Well done guys and girls for the demo just gone. have been on previous demo's but couldnt make this one. Please keep it up, causing the traffic to pile up must be the way forward, this is just an example of how cars cause congestion. We are being taxed like the congestion causers so may aswell demonstrate to the public how much more congestion would be added to the roads if we all gave our bikes up and got in the car. Bring on the next demo, weekend please

Good luck guys,I was with you in spirit.
I am all for any demo which tries to take away any of our rights to use two wheels anywhere.I see this as the thin end of the wedge with more anti bike legislation around the corner.
See you guys around.
NICE ONE,

I was there, but late... Caught the last few bikes leaving Traf Square then headed towards Millbank Towers.
I came in from Grays (near Lakeside shopping centre) as I don't work in London, but am 110% behind the cause. Any chance of getting more notice next time??? For us out-of-towners. An extra 30 mins would be great, but I understand the art of surprise is everything.
Well done all the organisers and people who turned up... See you all next time...

Very effective demonsatration today, must have been good. Plenty of visual evidence of "driver rage"!
The clandestine method of texting the venue worked well and surely has to be the way forward.
Big applause to the organisers!!!

The spirit of Ogri lives! The problem with motorcycling is that many commuters have joined. But we should energise capitalist commuters to become anti-establishment marxists!

Let us not delude ourselves that the majority of politicians are stupid, ignorant or unintelligent. They may be dyslexic, half blind, or have such poor writing standards they are unable read their own script from their seats in Parliament or Lords. They have the charisma to gather a band voters, loyal or otherwise, and intelligence to surround themselves with in depth support and defense systems.
It seems to me the elected members of national and local government are very astute in setting up triangles of administration in which independent agencies (Defra); not-for-profit (Housing Agencies); charitable organizations ( I am certain there are some) or private companies (utility billing and collection companies) are protected by so called regulators and ombudsmen organizations (OFWAT, OFGEM, FSA and the Banking watchdog) all appointed hand in glove from the ranks of the very organizations they are supposed to be overseeing, and from which they are supposed to be protecting us, the taxpayer and consumer.
As I understand the situation with the Bike Parking Charge, the authority to make the charge has been given to Westminster as a pilot. I understand the collection of the fee, fine and in all probability legalized theft of bikes, is has been handed over to a private company.
I am already aware of theft of SORN vehicles from private land by the agents of Local authorities without a court hearing. It seems there is no appeal against these actions, actions which are only uncovered after the Police have investigated the reported theft.
I have already witnessed many motorbikes being removed in London by groups of men supported by vans and lifting equipment marked “by authority of borough of Islington”. The bikes were correctly parked in a ‘Bikes only’ bay. The notice identifying the parking bay was not defaced, indicated no charge and no limitation to the time for parking. Police were in evidence in the vicinity but not apparently involved or concerned.
If the parking charge is enforced all the above and probably other infringements of decent behavior will become commonplace across the country as the charge companies employees with almost certainly be more motivated by their commision based pat then the wlefare of the motorist, his business, the good flow of traffic or the level of emissions.
This ‘No to the bike Parking Charge’ protest is a small needle compared to the mass protest required against misuse of government by its elected and unelected officials. It is time Government returned to the concept it is supposed to protect the people, the taxpayers from the excesses of government and sovereigns.

Bike parking free in every other town in Britain (as far as I know) and in most bid european cities certainly in Barcelona and Paris the cities work hard to encourage bikes for all the obvious reasons use less space less fuel. Most cars have only one passenger. The argument for free parking is accepted all over the world except Westminister and they don't make an argument just grap the money. Supposed to be a stealth tax? Don't work very well every one has noticed. Be there.
